About
Matthew joined the Orange Shoe Park Ridge team in 2024 after graduating from the University of Utah with a BS in Kinesiology and a minor in Sociology. He plans to obtain his strength and conditioning coaching certification in the future. Matthew has a considerable background in hockey; most recently, he served as a youth hockey coach for the Northbrook Bluehawks. He played hockey for thirteen years growing up and still plays for fun to this day. Matthew also participated in water polo and lacrosse at the high school level. Having gone to school in Utah for the past four years, Matthew has also become an avid skier and hiker. When Matthew isn’t at Orange Shoe, he enjoys spending free time hanging out with family and friends, engaging in various outdoor activities, watching and playing sports, and listening to music.
Q & A
Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: I became a personal trainer because I have always been passionate about fitness and helping others unlock their full potential. Seeing people achieve their goals, whether it's losing weight, gaining strength, or improving overall health, gives me a lot of joy.
Q: What has been one of your favorite client experiences?
A: My favorite client experience thus far has been helping one of my clients progress from not being able to do a push-up to being able to do renegade rows in half a year of training together.
Q: What is your proudest physical achievement?
A: Currently, I'm in the process of losing fifty pounds. It has taken me an entire year, but after lots of training, I am six pounds away from my goal.
Q: Why do you love Orange Shoe?
A: I really enjoy the community here at Orange Shoe. It is very welcoming, and everyone is very kind.
